Coldplay has officially announced two massive eco-friendly stadium concerts in London and Hull for August 2025—marking their only UK and European shows of the year. These highly anticipated performances will coincide with the release of their 10th studio album Moon Music and will contribute 10 per cent of the band’s proceeds to the Music Venue Trust (MVT), a charity dedicated to preserving grassroots music venues across the UK.
The announcement comes after teaser posters appeared at Dublin Castle in Camden, where Coldplay first performed under their now-famous name. The band will perform two shows at Hull’s Craven Park Stadium on August 18 and 19, followed by six consecutive nights at London’s Wembley Stadium, beginning August 22.
Supporting Grassroots Music
The decision to donate a portion of their earnings to MVT is significant for Coldplay, who began their career playing at small, local venues before ascending to global superstardom. The donation aims to assist grassroots venues that have been struggling due to financial pressures, particularly in the wake of the pandemic and rising operational costs.
“Coldplay are the perfect example of a UK band who came through the grassroots circuit on their way to worldwide stadium-filling success,” said MVT CEO Mark Davyd. “Their support will help venues stay open, ensure tours can continue, and allow thousands of people to experience the joy of live music.”
MVT, along with concert promoters (SJM Concerts, Metropolis Music, and Live Nation), booking agents (WME), venues (Wembley and Craven Park), and ticket agents (Ticketmaster, See Tickets, AXS), will also contribute donations to the cause. The funds will support initiatives aimed at keeping local music scenes alive and accessible.
Eco-Friendly Innovation
Coldplay continues to push the boundaries of sustainability in live music. Their upcoming Wembley shows will be powered entirely by renewable energy sources, including solar, wind, and kinetic energy, collected from the venue and across the UK. Audience members will even contribute to the energy supply via kinetic flooring and power-generating bikes on one of the satellite stages.
This initiative builds on the band’s ongoing efforts to minimize their environmental footprint. Their Music Of The Spheres tour, which recently became the biggest rock tour of all time, has already reduced CO2e emissions by 59 per cent compared to their 2016-2017 stadium tour, exceeding the band’s initial target of a 50 per cent reduction.
Ticketing and Local Access
In an effort to prioritize local fans, 50 per cent of tickets for the Hull shows will be reserved for residents in the HU, YO, DN, and LN postcodes. Tickets will be available via Ticketmaster from 6 pm on Thursday, September 26. Fans can also gain early access to a pre-sale starting on September 26 at 9 am by pre-ordering Moon Music.
Following the general sale on September 27, Coldplay will offer a limited number of £20 “Infinity Tickets” through Ticketmaster, ensuring that a portion of tickets remains affordable for fans.
